Event Details

When: November 10th, 2018 starting at 8am


What:  Open style partner CrossFit event consisting of 5 workouts and 1 finals workout that will be completed by the top 5 teams of the Men's and Women's divisions. 


Who: Both CrossFit and non CrossFit athletes looking to test their athletic ability in a fun and encouraging competitive environment. 


Where: Double Edge South. 6450 south Virginia street 


Why: To help benefit Step 2 


Mission Statement:  MetCon for Hope provides athletes of all levels an opportunity to test their fitness through the thrill of competition, while bringing awareness and financial support to local non-profit organizations.

Description Athlete's will have the opportunity to donate through Crowdrise. The link to crowdrise will be available after your registration. Blink of an Eye

Description: This is a FAST team ladder that consists of 5 bars which will be cleared by each teammate. One athlete will have to complete the ladder doing cleans in ascending order and the other athlete will complete the ladder doing Clean and Jerks in descending order. Rules: Teams must decide who will clean the ladder and who will clean and jerk the ladder before they go onto the competition floor Athlete must be cleared by their judge before they move to the next bar All athletes must step over their bar If the athlete cannot complete a bar they have an option of doing 5 deadlifts with the given weight on the bar. If the athlete chooses the deadlift option they will assess a 10 second penalty Weight: Bar 1 - 95/65 Bar 2 - 135/95 Bar 3 - 155/105 Bar 4 - 185/125 Bar 5 - 215/145

Burnout pt. 1

Description: This is a two part workout with a running clock to 9/10 mins that consists of a partner 2k row FOR TIME and then max rep back squats until the 9/10 minute mark. Rules: 2k Row Athletes will begin at the starting line, at “Go” the first athlete will run to the rower to begin the 2k. The second athlete will remain on the starting line until the team decides to transition There is no requirement on the distance that each athlete must do. If athletes switch they must run to their partner to “tag” them at the starting line The score will be total time to complete 2,000m

Burnout pt. 2

Description: This is a two part workout with a running clock to 9/10 mins that consists of a partner 2k row FOR TIME and then max rep back squats until the 9/10 minute mark. Rules: After completion of the 2k row, athletes will have the remainder of the 10 mins to complete as many back squats with the designated weight as possible Athletes will have the option to choose from 185/125 or 135/95 Athletes who choose to complete the lesser weight will be scored on a 2:1 ratio compared to the 185/125 weight. Ex. 50 reps at 135 will be scored as 25 reps. Tie breaker will be the 2k row time

Skip and Rip

Description: This will be another two part workout that will be testing an athletes gymnastics and strength. Workout 5 will consist of 200 Double Unders split evenly between each athlete with 50 reps at a time. Before each athlete starts on their 50 DU’s they most complete 10 pull ups and 10 toes to bars. After they complete workout 5 they will have a 1 min rest after the time cap before starting workout 6 in which each athlete will have 2 attempts to lift the most amount of weight in a complex of “Thruster + S2OH” in 2 mins. Rules: Workout 4 (5 min time cap) Each athlete must complete the 10 pull ups and 10 toes 2 bar by themselves before they attempt their DU’s. If an athlete cannot complete a pull up they can do 20 ring rows. If an athlete cannot complete a toes to bar they can complete 25 knees to parallel Double Unders can only be done 50 at a time by each athlete. After the athlete has completed their 50 DU’s they can advance their rope and tag their teammate to begin their buy in of pull ups and T2B and then their 50 DU’s If an athlete cannot complete DU’s they can do 50 singles and 10 burpees

Grip and Rip

Description: This will be another two part workout that will be testing an athletes gymnastics and strength. Workout 5 will consist of 200 Double Unders split evenly between each athlete with 50 reps at a time. Before each athlete starts on their 50 DU’s they most complete 10 pull ups and 10 toes to bars. After they complete workout 5 they will have a 1 min rest after the time cap before starting workout 6 in which each athlete will have 2 attempts to lift the most amount of weight in a complex of “Thruster + S2OH” in 2 mins. Rules: (2 min time cap) At the 5 min mark their will be a 1 min “Rest” where athletes can load their bars with their first attempt. Each athlete will have 2 attempts TOTAL to lift the most amount of weight in the thruster + S2OH complex An attempt includes a failed lift and/or a no rep The team will be scored off of total weight from all 4 attempts
